A vacant site was identified for social rented housing in Fulham, London. The local authority requested a new residential development that optimised density for affordable, rented housing within the constraints of urban context and budget.
Leading the project design for AECOM, Ross Logie's solution is a contemporary mansion block that provides 33 new homes. Flats are clustered around naturally lit lobbies and are carefully planned such that each dwelling has multiple aspects. Room areas are in accordance with the London Housing Design Guide.
The form of the building is articulated as a series of interlocking blocks. Their varying heights are a considered response to a technical assessment of daylighting of the surrounding properties.
Steering the project from concept design to planning stage, we achieved full planning approval.
