The Old Soup Kitchen

Restoration of the facade of a heritage building brings the property back to life.

The Soup Kitchen for the Jewish Poor is a building of great architectural and social history. It was completed in 1902, providing food for the poverty-stricken Jewish population of East London. It is a Grade II listed building. In 1992 it was converted to apartments.

The facade was in dire need of repair and repainting. Working on behalf of the multiple owners of the property, Ross Logie Architecture designed and managed the restoration. This included working with the local authority to obtain listed building approval.

Following meticulous restoration and repainting, the building has been given a robust and handsome facelift.
