Lok Kawi is an uninhabited, man-made island off the west coast of Malaysian Borneo. We were invited by the owner to conceptualise a master plan for a sustainable collection of resorts extending into the sea.
Inspired by the tropical landscape, the plan comprises a series of idiosyncratic hotels, linked by new landscaping - lakes, parks and beaches. Approximately 1,700 guest rooms and an array of public spaces are planned. Many of their vast rooftops are envisioned as verdant, tropical parks.
Working as a sole practitioner, Ross Logie prepared the full schematic design for this unique master plan.
